I am becoming a notary – how much of a raise (if any) should I ask for at work?
We use the services of a notary public about once or twice a month at my current job, so my boss suggested that I go ahead and get certified. The business is going to pay for all the costs that come along with getting certified. I currently make .50 an hour. Should I ask for a raise after my certification? If so, how much? I have worked here for 8 months and this would be my first raise.

If the company is paying all the fees to get you certified I wouldn’t think that they will also consider giving you a raise on top of it. You keep the notary certification, stamp, and book even if you leave the company as it is you.
You could speak to your boss about it, but I would think that like most companies raises are given out annually after you have worked for them for an entire year. If anything you may get .25 an hour more.
you could ask for a raise but doesnt sound like you use a notary too often, I am a notary public and I get $10.00 per page I notarize
