		<description>I really think it depends on the maturity of the child. Parents should have a feel of how responsible their child is before granting them freedom on the internet. They should make sure they really understand the dangers of child predators, stalkers and fraud. 

Overall, I think that when a teen enters high school they should be trusted with their own email and should be able to use social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace. I don&#039;t feel that middle school age kids should be allowed to use these sites, however.

I wouldn&#039;t say that parental controls are a violation of privacy, they are more a restriction of freedom. Rather than parents dictating what sites their children can and cannot use and asking their children for their passwords, I think they should have one family computer that is in a common space and limit the amount of time their children can use it. Teens wouldn&#039;t be doing anything bad on the computer when they know their mom could walk into the room at any moment. It&#039;s when young teens have their own computers in their rooms that they can use whenever they want that they get themselves in trouble.</description>
