I was in school and received financial aid and then withdrew and was told I had to return my financail aid. I did not return my financail aid, but my school returned the money back to the government so that now I owe the school and not the government. The will not release my transcripts because I owe them money. I would like to know if I file chapter 7, will the debt be discharged and so they will have to release my transcript since I would no longer owe them anything?
This is not money that I owe to the government because the University already sent the money back to the government to pay it off. I OWE THE ACTUAL UNIVERSITY, NOT THE GOVERNMENT.
