First… Souter is a Centrist, Sotomayor also appears to be a Centrist. The reason that the right was disappointed in Souter is that to the “my way or the highway” mindset anything that doesn’t 100% tow the right-wing ideology is seen as a leftist.
Second… Roe v. Wade isn’t going to be overturned or restricted because that would necessitate a precise definition of “personhood”, not something the courts are willing to tackle because consensus on such a definition is not possible. btw… please do tell why a pro-life president, a Republican majority in Congress and a conservative leaning court did NOTHING in their six years of power to overturn Roe v. Wade. Fact… the GOP uses a “pro-life” stance to get votes, then they do nothing until the next election when they drag “pro-life” off the shelf to use it again to garner votes.
Third… those “personal freedoms” that you mockingly say Democrats will be losing… get this FACT… they’re YOUR rights too! Duh.
