I had an issue where I might have had contact with rabies. I called the Department of Health, and the person who deals with this sort of thing in my state just wanted to get an attitude with me, as if I was waisting his time. He said that the decision to get the rabies shot would be for my doctor, or the emergency room personnel to decide. I went to the emergency room, and they said that there wasn’t anything to worry about, and DID NOT give me the shots. If I do get rabies and die, is there anything my father can do, to get some kind of retribution? Would the courts take away the licenses to practice from all involved, or would this just be some kind of fiscal compensation kind of thing? Not that I want to die, but as they were not going to do anything for me, all I can do is wait and see what happens. I am really scared, but I can not just go to my fridge and get the shots out and give them to myself, so I just have to rely on the doctors orders to wait it out. So if I do end up getting sick, can anything legal (once I get sick, nothing can be done for me, I will just end up dying anyway) be done to those who could have prevented it, but choose not to? Also, will the fact that I am married prevent my father from being the one able to do anything? My wife and I have been seperated (not legaly) for a few years now, but we are still married. I now know a little of how it feels to be on death row, just waiting to see when my time will come, I really hope no one else has to go through this, it is a terrible feeling.
Sorry, I didnt mention it, but no, I could not find the animal. Something flew into me the other night, and I though it was a bat because of the size and the fact that it was night, but because I couldnt find it, no one here is taking it seriously. I would have it tested if I could. I know the shots are expensive, but I think that if it would save a life then what the H E double L does cost matter? We give people thousands of flu shots every year why are they so much cheaper, because the flu isnt as deadly as rabies, come on. But of all the people I’ve talked with none of them are taking it seriously, so I am just probably going to have to wait it out.
