When restarting my new laptop (Uniwill 223ei0, Pentium-M760-2.0GHz, WXP Pro) after MU (Microsoft Update), I got a message window: ___________________________________________________________ | Prevention – Microsoft Windows |___________________________________________________________ | | To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this | program. | | Name: Windows Explorer | Publisher: Microsoft Corporation | | | Close Message | | | Prevention helps protect against damage | from viruses and other security threats. | What should I do?
Windows doesn’t even tell me which application or component has tried to launch Windows Explorer!
Clicking "What should I do?" opens "Help and Support Center – Understanding Prevention"
which in turn tells me to open "Start – Settings – Control Panel System – Advanced – Performance – Settings – Prevention".
Unfortunately in that DEP tab I have only 2 options
Okay so a little while ago I noticed this red circle with a white X in the middle on my icon bar. Now, messages pop up every so often saying, "Your computer is infected! Windows has detected an infection of spyware! It is reccomended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you." I returned to my desktop, and the desktop background has been changed to an image that says, "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED! System has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is reccomended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not use the computer before all spyware removed." Also, a window keeps popping up saying, "Attention! System detected a potential hazard (TrojanSPM/LX) on your computer that may infect executable files. You private information and PC safety is at risk. To get rid of unwanted spyware and keep your computer safe you need update your current security software. Click OK to download official intrusion detection system (IDS software).
Also, my Microsoft Paint won’t open, and who knows what else. I am currently running a full system scan on Norton AntiVirus. So far, about the total items scanned is 286, 500, and only 2 security risks were detected, and both were resolved. Yet still, the windows and messages are popping up and I can’t change my background. Anyone know what I can do?
Well, that was very helpful. I should have mentioned that I did not download anything, I saw those pop ups and knew it was a virus, so I started a full system scan and it hasn’t been detected yet.
I frequently observe unwanted, unexpected, and UNKNOWN sending and receiving traffic in my connection activity icon in my Windows Systray. I can see the send/receive lights blink on and off. I can see how many bytes were received or sent. But something very important… something very OBVIOUSLY important… is missing from the information available to me. Namely: who the hell is doing it! I want to know the IP number of the people who are slowing down my use of the internet, who are taking priority of my computer away from me, who (for all I know) are rummaging through my files and software for every bit of personal data I have. How can I determine who’s messing with me?
I would also like to be able to monitor what sort of information is coming off my machine, which files of mine are being uploaded without my permission, what’s being written to my machine without my consent, both in real time and historically, as say a textual time-line.
You’d think that Microsoft, with their weekly "security updates," would have thought by now of their customers’ desire to know who they’re dealing with and what the deal is. So much would be easy for a vendor selling in a market plagued by scammers and predators, to understand. But somehow, this particular "security update" never seems to get made.
security updates for Microsoft visual c++2005 service pack 1 redistributable package (kb9732… failed error code 80070424. i deleted 26 gigabytes of data thinking it might have needed more room for the hard drive. help will be greatly appreciated
I have the system security virus on my computer that will not allow me to open any programs in regular mode. So i’m in safe mode and I’m looking for the virus files in the registry. I could not find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\"1632575944"
what do you suggest?
however i found 18094684.exe and 98104676.exe
do you think these are the virus/
but for some reason, in safe mode, i can’t find my C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
so, im not the most technology savvy guy, i know my way around some programs but you know, average. i was listening to a lecture about viruses and it caught my attention.
the speaker was talking about people out there (in the internet world) who make worms and viruses etc. and release them into the internet, which brings about my 1st question?
1: how do people even get worms into the internet, now, i know it may seem childish but when i hear that i imagine a worm as being like an airborne virus, the internet being all the air and your random searching being you accidentally running into it while going through a DNS or whatever? so, i know that’s not right, the internet is just light being sent through a cable and being read as 1’s and 0’s and that makes your computer interpret the data and display it, so, how do people get worms in?
okay, going past that, im always curious as to how these things go about doing what they do, its as if the virus has artificial intelligence of logic algorithms??? how can a worm (once again, my mental image) sneak into your computer and hack stuff in a sense so
2: how do worms (viruses etc.) actually get into your computer and hack things, do they just go for random things that every computer has? what if you have some new OS, then would this virus be useless, just pointless data sitting in your computer unable to do anything?
the third thing that was brought up was that once in 07 i believe, microsoft discovered a MASSIVE vulnerability in their DNS servers or something like that, and any would-be hacker could exploit, now, it just ended there, exploit. to do what?
3: if some hacker got into say, Microsoft’s DNS servers, how and, what would they even do?
there as one thing, final one, the speaker said the two of the main 13 servers that make up the backbone of the internet got hacked and severely damaged, running at 20% capacity so.
4: first, i always thought the internet was just all the computers connected together, so… yahoo for an example has their servers, and when we go to yahoo, we are in their servers, and if more people come, they need more servers etc. etc. what are these 13 main servers, who owns them, where are thither? what are their importance?
4.1: also, how could someone hack one of them, all i imagined it being was a HUB, like the center of a mall, there’s nothing to steal there, its just a gate way for making things more organized? what would you hack?
4.2: how do these things get past security, in fact… how does security work??? i imagine it being like a border for getting onto a country (you computer or other networks) the security knows whats legit and lets it pass, and whatever looks suspicious, gets kicked back into the pool or desert internet. how do things get past? are some viruses like airborne real life viruses, and they just "slip through" with no way of stopping them?
4.3: if all this is possible then why don’t (me assuming this makes sense) we (the gov.) just make worms that seek and destroy all this bad software, just make worms that know what should and shouldn’t be and you know, delete them (once again, me trying to make sense)
5:perhaps the least tech required question, why do these people do it, why make problems and viruses, why?
What you should know about running scripts and ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer
Be cautious about allowing Web sites to run scripts or ActiveX controls on your computer. While these items can enhance Web browsing, they can also be a security risk, and it’s best to avoid using them when you can. However, some Web sites or tasks might require them and you will have to decide whether to trust ActiveX controls that Internet Explorer blocks for your safety.
What are scripts and ActiveX controls?
Scripts, ActiveX controls, and other Web browser add-ons are used extensively on the Internet. They can make browsing more enjoyable by providing toolbars, stock tickers, video, animated content, and more. These programs can, however, malfunction or give you content you don’t want. In some cases, these programs can be used to collect information from your computer in ways you might not approve of, possibly damage data on your computer, install software on your computer without your consent, or allow someone else to control your computer remotely. Given these risks, you should only install these programs if you completely trust the publisher.
What should you do about ActiveX controls and scripts running on your computer?
Use the default security settings in Internet Explorer. These settings will help protect you. If you feel like you need more protection while browsing the Internet, it’s OK to increase your browser’s default security settings.
Important
The default security settings in Internet Explorer are designed to help protect your computer from viruses and attacks over the Internet. Microsoft strongly recommends that you leave these security settings at their default level or higher.
dont put weblink on my page i never click on it lol
I would like to cut and paste data from a microsoft office software directly on the email and sent it to my customers. But im concerned the data would be manipulated if i do not add security at the email level. Is there any way to prevent manipulation? Any applications within microsoft outlook itself? Any free software to use?
I just had a system recovery back to my original factory state on my computer. Then I did a few antivirus scans:
NOD32 version 4 -> 0 infections
Spybot Search and Destroy -> a few detected cookies
Norton 360 and Norton 2004 -> 0 infections
SuperAntiSpyware -> 18 Adware tracking cookies
MalwareBytes -> 2 Reg Data Item

I have a question about Windows Messenger, the Version of Windows Messenger That I have in Windows XP Pro is:
Windows Messenger
Version 4.7 (4.7.300)
Copyright (C) 2004 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Contains security software licensed from RSA Data Security Inc.
That is was it shows in the About Section of Windows Messenger 4.7
Now aside from that, i have one Small Problem, When i have reached 1000 Contacts, for some reason, i cant add any more than that!! it wont let me. It said that i have Reached the maximum number of contacts!! I Didnt know that Windows Messenger Had a certain Limit, what i can do is i can delete the contacts so i can free up Room for new Ones,
But I am not sure of which contact deleted me or blocked me..
I know for sure when i go to Tools>options>Privacy Tab
and when i go to my Block list, its Blank!! so that means i Didn’t Block anybody, I think most of the people that i have in my Contacts list, THERE THE ONES who blocked me, it just wont show up in the Allow list, so what should i do????????
now i have 1000 contacts, and i didn’t know that there was a limit
I presumed that windows XP EFS was unbreakable, even by forensics (with the assumption that if they dont know your windows password – they cannot break into your acct to use your key…changing the password from admin will also change your key…am I right?) – then I keep reading that an expert in forensics can break EFS. If thats the case, why are we paying Microsoft money for a OS that has such a security flaw? The only other option I see is encryption software on the internet…however, the software decrypts the with a special password…every time you want to update that file (ie it could be a personal address book in word etc), you have to input password and un-encrypt the file to view. Once updated, you have to decrypt the file (manually with the software) again. What bloody palava that is.Not workable at all. What if the file is part of a working app as opposed to a data file? Is there anyway out there which guarantees data security?Note:EFS also lets ANYONE view the files names
And I have no idea if a bad program like Adwarealert (which i had previously installed) might have done this, or if it’s normal for a good program like Norton or McAfee to do this.

Colloidal Silver & Gold Monatomic Atoms New Kid On The Block
There has been much written about monatomic particles, monatomic particles are hard to obtain and hard to detect, which is why most Chemical Colloidal Suppliers say that “Monatomic” gold or silver are a “Myth”.
The debunkers were hired to discredit colloidal monatomic atoms and or Ions by the traditional chemical colloidal producers, in which they have no supporting evidence except what they call the Tyndall effect, a simple test of visual detection.
Yet science has confirmed the existence of superatoms, they were a “Myth” as many so blindly put it, nonexistent up until a few years ago, further more recent Hadron Collider reports have proven that the experiments, smashing protons into each other, produced a few more subatomic particles now known as pions and kaons.
Monatomic Particles may be in fact what has been found by the Hadron Collider, except they may have given them a different name such as Pions and Kaons.
If monatomic particles did not exist, then why build the $9 billion dollar Hadron Collider to find undetectable particles?
The Hadron Collider Reports proves that Subatomic/monatomic particles can and do exist and are no longer a “myth” as the opportunist still claim even though they are presented with new and factual scientific information, they still cling to their misrepresentation of the facts.
Einstein predicted the existence of these particles long ago and modern science knows that they are there, but has yet to develop an inexpensive means to detect them and eventually use them.
Colloidal Silver and Gold Atoms are the new kid on the block when it comes down to Colloidal Monatomic Products.
Most producers of the typical Colloidal Nano Products use chemicals to make their solutions. Now there is a non chemical alternative, but let’s first examine the typical colloidal products that have virtually 10 zillion companies that sell them.
Problems Chemical Nano Colloidal Products:
Chemicals are used in their manufacture, if it has color, if it is stored in blue or amber bottles, and the instructions say not to refrigerate, or do not expose to high temperature, it has chemicals. The chemicals and silver will bond together drop to the bottom of the vessel and expose the fact that there ARE heavy metals in those solutions.
Heavy Metal Content which doctors frown upon and with good reason, doctors say that Heavy Metals are hard on the kidneys, but so is alcohol, and so is drinking too much water.
Chemical Problems:
Typical chemicals that are used and promoted by many Nano Particle Colloidal companies are:
Sodium
Hydrogen Peroxide
Nitric Acid
Hydrochloric Acid
Phosphates
Cyanide
Sodium combined with Silver, make Silver Chloride, all chlorides cause nerve damage over long term use.
Hydrogen Peroxide combined with Silver creates a solution that contributes to premature graying of the hair.
Hydrochloric acid combined with silver makes Silver Hydroxide that causes the hair to fall out.
That’s just a few examples of what Silver Chemical consumption may do to your body.
So what is safe to use?
Answer:
Chemical Free Colloidal Silver and Gold Products: Colloidal Silver Atoms 3000 PPM is Natures answer they are Immune System Trace Mineral Supplements made with No Chemicals and have the Highest PPM value in the market.
When is a Metal considered to be a Heavy Metal?
Heavy Metals drop to the bottom of any liquid solution, nano particle are a bit considerably lighter than heavy metals, but not light enough to stay suspended in their chemical solution., however when they are exposed to extreme cold, or extreme heat, they bind up together and drop to the bottom of the container along with their colorful chemicals.
Trace Mineral Monatomic Particle atoms, do not drop under extreme cold, or heat, you can freeze it and heat it but it will not drop to the bottom.
The next question is then how do we know that we have monatomic particles?
Real simple and its basic chemistry
Warning: Children do not try this experiment, certain chemicals can be hazardous to your health, this test should only be conducted by experienced chemists, proper safety equipment and supplies are required, if you do this experiment you do so at your own risk.
Take 500 ml of Monatomic Colloidal Gold Atoms from: www.gold2live.com/.com (Trace Gold 9,999 PPM in Distilled water)
Add 1 tablespoon of PURE Salt.
Boil down to about 20 ml, until is moist salt, do not over heat.
Add 500 ml Water and repeat step 3 This time boil down to about 200 ml
Add 500 ml of HCL and boil down to moist salt
Add 500 ml of pure distilled water and boil down to moist salt
Repeat 4 times until there is no HCL smell and no gold chloride color.
Upon the last boil down, there will be found pink or reddish precipitate mixed in with the salt which when fired in extreme heat produced gold beads which also tested for gold.
So remember when traveling out of the country, do not ruin your business trip, honey moon, vacation to someone coughing in your face, take Colloidal Silver 3000 PPM its safe, effective and priced right.

Selecting The Best Community, Planned & Built Within Your Budget In North & South Carolina
North Carolina and South Carolina have got a lot of publicity in recent times as retirement destinations. Schools are great, cost of living is comparatively low, cheap housing is available, the weather is great, food and cultural options abound, and of course there is that famous Southern hospitality. Inhabitants of the Northeast and Midwest as well as those from Florida are moving to North Carolina and South Carolina in record numbers.
The choices of where to stay are plentiful. A lot of young families and people near retirement are electing to acquire houses in communities planned with a plethora of facilities at reasonable rates. You may like it for the golf course, the pool, clubhouse, organized classes, social outings or the health club. Some individuals select communities for the peace of mind with the of a gated entrance, guard house and private patrol car.
There are several choices suitable for every type of lifestyle, but there are things that make a community more appealing for retirement or the young family, and should be considered before one acquires real estate in any community. I have emphasized seven things you should be familiar with when selecting an inexpensive planned community for retirement or relocation in North Carolina or South Carolina.
A number of communities host special events that present you an occasion to hobnob with other owners. You’ll hear what is good as well as the things they feel could be improved. See that you speak to owners randomly on your own, as they are valuable resources.
1) If you’re purchasing property with a shared wall connecting the units, check the noise ordinance of the community. What is allowed by law? You must additionally inquire as to the sound proofing between the dwellings.
2) Go to the community at different hours of the day, and night, on different days and on weekends. Pay attention to delivery vehicles, construction equipment and inordinate noise. View what goes on in the community and learn about your future neighbors.
3) Does the community plan to expand in the future, and according to what needs?
4) Is the community planned and constructed to satisfy the parking needs of its inhabitants and their guests?
5) Will there be any conditions (“Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions – CC&R’s”) in your real estate deed that govern the way you can use your property? Learn about them! Ensure they match your lifestyle.
6) Will there be extra charges for association dues, maintenance fees, garbage removal, boat slips, golf, tennis, pool, fitness club, and stables?
There are quite a few other factors you have to be familiar with when deciding on an affordable community planned and built for retirement or relocation. To cite an instance, you should know how to decide if the community is stable, and the many other things to inquire about. That could and bring about savings of tens of thousands of dollars! You’ll discover certain developers interest buyers with first class facilities, only to make you foot the bill! Community living can be fantastic, and we’ll ensure that you find a community you’ll be pleased to label your Dream Home.
Visit www.PlacesOfValue.com for more articles on best places in North Carolina and South Carolina, relocation and/or retirement made easy, top retirement communities, cost of living, and designing and building your Dream Home.
I’ve spent over 30 years finding the best real estate locations for major corporations. These companies have made hundreds of millions of dollars based on the locations I’ve selected. I’m a professional real estate site locator and location analyst. During the last 5 years, I’ve been researching the growth of towns in North and South Carolina, for the relocation of my family. I’ve studied hundreds of towns to find those areas which are still affordable, have a high quality lifestyle, and the potential for future growth. My purpose is to share what I’ve found with you and help you find your Best Place to Live in the Carolinas.

Certified Virtual Assistants: How the Job is Changing
It wasn’t long ago that being a virtual assistant meant doing administrative duties for professionals and business owners. Anything that you could do from a computer and with a phone, your certified virtual assistant could do too. Some duties ranged from ordering flowers for you wife, sending email or phone call reminders to get her a gift on her birthday, to having your mail forwarded to our homes and letting us sort out the junk mail. If you were very creative, you could even do filing for the client and ship boxes back and forth when needed. However, the face of what a certified virtual assistant is and does is rapidly changing thanks to the outsourcing to countries like India and the Philippines.

This summer, I spent countless hours learning to design web pages, SEO, traffic generation, how to make money online, become certified in shopping cart and LMS strategies, etc. It simply isn’t enough to do administrative work anymore. However, the big web design firms aren’t offing the administrative side either. So what I’ve found is a nice combination that my clients love! They get the personal attention they always did with their own personal VA, they get the knowledge of a huge web design/e – commerce firm, and they still have their administrative tasks handled as well. Now I’ve partnered with a product strategist to take any professional with a simply idea to an online business owner – complete with all the trimmings in under a year.
To all my fellow VA’s out there – I say now is the time to up your skills or you will soon find yourself losing clients to outsourcing and the big web design firms. Learn now and make yourself unique. For my clients – I am The Virtual Difference in their lives and business.

Fine Dollar What is the fine for using a fake ID in Canada?
I am from Canada and I herd that someone got a 400 hundred dollar fine for getting into a bar. Is this true?
Using a photo ID with fake DOB just to get into a bar is not a big deal. You just won’t be let in. Many under 19 yo guys/gals do this kind of thing all the time. If they get caught with fake IDs at one bar they would try another bar. many young persons that I know never got fined for using faked IDs, they were simply denied the entry .
Dollar Fine Can my employer make me pay a fine that his store received?
I was charged with furnishing a minor ( I work at a liquor store, didnt check an id, turns out to be an unage confidential police informant) I went to court, paid my fine, paid my attorney, and have it on my record. Two and a half months later my boss (the owner) tells me that I might have to pay the 1500+ dollar fine that the store gets as the liquor permit holder. Can he legally make me pay this fine?
Or any references to research this.
No, he can not legally make you pay the fine.
He can legally fire you for cause, which would stop you from collecting unemployment.
And he would probally have a case to sue you in civil court for the amount of the Store Fine.
