What about the hangers on from "the late stages" such as the remainder of child soldiers from on or after 12/07 that were not turned over to UN or central government a portion of whom were ceremoniously released into society and the OTHER portion that was not. Who is this "we" that you are refering to in the statement : "We are not using any child soldiers and we have no intention of returning to war," the Chief Minister said at a meeting in Trincomalee.
The CM also said that child soldiers who joined at the early stages are now being rehabilitated and prepared to return to normal life.

The Secretary-General and Undersecretary Holmes have repeatedly asked the LTTE to let hostages free but certain Tamil members of the UN have not done so. Since Secretary-General and Undersecretary have not commented about UN contact with the LTTE why not ask them to find out what channels have been used and why it has not been reported or discussed with appropriate Government Officials. It would also go to show how ineffective these "close links" are at rudimentary and principally important matters such as getting hostages released.
I understand that a new seafarers programme has been implemented by the Royal Danish Government – I wonder what the ethnic mix of participants is for this non-specific catergorized programme? For we have a multi-ethnic society that promotes multi-ethnic opportunity for our peoples.
